Conservation Lands Funded By FCT.

   The Bonair Beach parcel, connecting 7 miles of barrier island greenway in Martin county has been ranked 14th in the state by the Florida Communities Trust, which should make it eligible for funding (see Marker Summer 2001). Also, high in the rankings is the Lost Tree Islands which Indian River County has been working to purchase to prevent these islands in the lagoon from being developed (see Marker Fall 2001). Other important ranked projects include, Brevard County’s Rockledge Coastal Scrub, Martin County’s Delaplaine Peninsula, St. Lucie County’s Indrio Scrub Preserve, Savanna Buffer Preserve and St. Lucie North Fork parcels.
