MYSTERIOUS DOLPHIN DEATHS AND SKIN DISEASES IN LAGOON. Nearly one in every three bottlenose dolphins in the Indian River Lagoon has a skin condition that includes discoloration and white growths resembling cauliflower or barnacles. For some dolphins, the growths appear to be fatal... UNUSUAL MANATEE AND SEA TURTLE DEATHS. In a three week period Seven manatees have died in the Lagoon in Brevard County. All seven showed no outward signs of illness, but had stringy-looking shell casings of a marine worm in its digestive tract...
