Martin County Comp Plan Wetlands Protection

Ross Wilcox from Martin County gave a presentation on the proposed changes in the Wetland regulations of the Comprehensive Plan effecting county projects. The plan amendments reduce the buffer zone around wetlands of special concern from 100 to 75 feet and removes the 25 foot setback. It also removes the required 300 foot septic tank distance. It is the county’s position that these numbers were arbitrary and not based on science.
