Shoreline Restoration St. Lucie/Martin County

Invasive species removal has begun at the Bonair Beach property in the town of Jupiter Island. This site along with the adjacent Hobe Sound Wildlife Refuge make up a greenway seven miles in length. Over 100 feet of shoreline has been pepperbusted and invasives have been removed on over 40,000 square feet.

Volunteers are needed in St. Lucie and Martin County, call MRC’s Ft. Pierce office at (561) 429-1200. Pictured to the right is the MRC’s Martin County shoreline restoration coordinator, Dan Knippel, and two volunteers, Brenda Casto and Loren Bell.
