Brevard Boaters Raise Money to Fight Manatee Speed Zones

600 boaters showed up at Kiwanis Island Park to help raise money to appeal a legal decision to allow the new manatee speed zones in Brevard. "The outside world thinks we are going to go away, and it’s good to let them know we’re here to stay," Rep. Bob Allen told the boaters. State Rep. Mike Haridopolis also urged boaters to fight for their property rights. The challenge is the latest maneuver in a battle between boating groups, and two cities against the state and the Save the Manatee Club.
