Puffer-fish Band Stretches to One Year





The prohibition of harvesting puffer fish from Indian River, St. Lucie, Brevard, Martin and Volusia counties has been extended for one year due to more cases of poisoning. The fish may contain a naturally occurring toxin that can cause serious illness and death. Poisoning is possible with fish that were previously caught, frozen and thoroughly cooked.
