LagoonFest 2016

LagoonFest 2016

Shout Out for MRC LagoonFest 2016!

THANK YOU for an AWESOME EVENT!!

The MRC LagoonFest campaign successfully reached millions of people and engaged thousands in a joyous dance for the lagoon! Over 3,500 people were in attendance, representing at least 4 countries, 13 states, 36 counties, and 68 cities. We packed the house!

MRC’s LagoonFest 2016 event was an outstanding “edutainment” opportunity. Festers could ask a scientist about the lagoon, shop among area art and service vendors, participate in a raffle and silent auction, eat delicious food and drink Leesa’s Lemonade and of course FUNK OUT with George Clinton and PARTY DOWN with the P-Funk!! Such a great night and couldn’t have been without the hard work and support of many dedicated individuals.

Remember — we can all do something to save the Indian River Lagoon every day!

  • Remind a friend or neighbor to not fertilize the lawn this summer!
  • Attend a rain barrel workshop or pick up a kit to build a rain barrel at the Lagoon House!
  • Attend the MRC Brown Bag Lunch
  • Write an Editorial to the regional or local paper or your HOA newsletter with tips on protecting the lagoon.

Amazing group energy at LagoonFest 2016! George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic with Brandi with her kitty ears in the foreground. So much fun!

So many dedicated people dancing for a common cause, the Indian River Lagoon!! Thank you to the P-funk for a great night!

Zach Deputy rockin' the house with his one man music cacophony of sound at LagoonFest 2016 last night! Awesome Act!
