Brown Bag Lunch: It's Rocket Science

20160906-brownbag-joe-bartoszelOur Brown Bag Lunch speaker on Tuesday, September 6 will be Brevard resident Joe Bartoszek, who's been living in the region since 1964. Joe attended Florida Tech, and graduated from the University of Central Florida in 1977 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering (Environmental Option). During his UCF years, Joe was co-op working for NASA in the Earth Resources office. Upon graduation he was hired full-time by NASA working on the Space Shuttle's maneuvering engines. After the Challenger incident he moved into facilities management, gaining a broad spectrum of NASA operations, most notably the Life Sciences Facility. Joe retired after 32 years of service.

Joe is also a Master Scuba Instructor, teaching well over 500 new divers during the past 30 years.

At Barrier Island Center, Joe is the senior volunteer, working at the facility since opening day some 9 years ago.

Joe recently completed the Florida Coastal Master Naturalist program.
