At the February Brown Bag Lecture (Tuesday, February 2), Julie Albert, MRC North Atlantic Right Whale Monitoring Program Coordinator, will provide an update on the 2015–2016 right whale season and recent local sightings.

About Julie Albert
Julie received her Bachelors of Science in Marine Biology from Texas A&M University at Galveston in 1995. She dedicated her time as a Texas Marine Mammal Stranding Network Volunteer for five years. In 1991 she began volunteering for the Florida Marine Research Institute in Melbourne, now called the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and then became the Program Coordinator of MRC’s right whale program shortly after. Julie continues to operate the toll-free Right Whale Sightings Hotline (1-888-979-4253 or 1-888-979-WHALES). She also conducts public education classes each year during right whale season from December 1 to April 30.
