Our volunteers help us restore and protect the Indian River Lagoon. Without our volunteers we could not cover nearly as much ground through restoration and data collection. We need everyone from our community to band together to help educate the public about the health of our Lagoon!

The Indian River Lagoon was established as an estuary of national significance in April 1990. In 1991 our Lagoon became a part of the National Estuary Program. Our Lagoon is one of the most biodiverse estuaries in the continental United States! Become an MRC Volunteer today and do your part in restoring this national treasure!

Membership Drive

MRC is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization whose mission is to protect and restore the Indian River Lagoon (IRL), the estuary that's imperative to our coastal community lifestyle. The IRL generates over $3 billion to our local economy annually, which is nothing compared to the value of cherished memories and priceless moments spent with family and friends along the Lagoon.

Join Marine Resources Council now and give back to the Indian River Lagoon today.

MRC is leading the charge to save the Indian River Lagoon with science-based advocacy, education, and community engagement. 90% of contributions go directly to programs and projects that support our mission. Our 2014 goals are to enhance fish and bird habitat by planting over 5000 mangroves, conducting over 50 workshops for citizens and elected officials, and engaging 200 new volunteers in lagoon-lifesaving activities. Help us save the IRL! Join MRC today!
